Welcome to NWRAG
We are a collaborative network of anaesthesia and intensive care medicine trainees in the North West Deanery set up to promote high quality, multi-centre audits and research in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. Run by trainees, for trainees, we’re open to everyone from higher trainees to foundation doctors to help take good ideas and turn them into high-quality, high-impact projects.
The idea is simple - trainees from different hospitals in the Deanery work together on the same project at the same time across all trusts, pool together the data and publish together as a group. The role of NWRAG is to co-ordinate major regional projects, and support trainees in their own projects by helping them establish contacts and collaborations, providing methodological support, and turning local projects into multi-centre research.
Our activities include primary research, audits, systematic reviews, promoting collaboration between hospitals and departments, and promoting evidence-based medicine through running events and study days. We are also the founding member of Research & Audit Federation of Trainees (RAFT), the umbrella organisation for similar trainee-led groups nationally, and co-ordinate data collection for the national RAFT projects.
Check out our website and subscribe to our newsletter for updates on projects in the Deanery and further afield that trainees can get involved in; relevant events, courses, and conferences; and highlighting work done by our trainees.
